I've been on a huge hiatus from the internet, but lo and behold I have returned to it.
On the news, I have been seeing too many stories of people being killed in cold blood for money. It makes me step back and look at the world we live in, what kind of culture have we cultivated for ourselves here on this earth? Is life really dependent on money? Is it really THAT important?
It is a truly saddening thought that our culture has devolved so far into arrogance, materialism, and greed that people are shooting other human beings for a few dollars. Is that the price of life? Is life really that cheap?
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Money is the root of all kinds of evil.
It is truly saddening that the world kills itself in the name of money. It is hard to collect my thoughts right now because some images are too fresh in my mind but I do plan on making another post about money and how it can be put to good use and how the love of money should be completely abandoned in our thoughts.
We must remember that all gifts are from the Lord and we cannot store up material wealth on the world for ourselves. We must store up spiritual wealth for ourselves because THAT is what we can take with us to Heaven; that is what is useful. Since every gift is from the Lord, we should give it to somebody else. We should give to those in need. If we do for the lowest, we do for the highest which is our Lord Jesus Christ.
I plan to write lots more on this subject but right now my thoughts need to marinate a little bit more.
