"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20
Jesus Christ simply knocks at your door. He does not force his way in and force you to accept Him as Lord. He knocks; you're free to ignore it but you're also free to accept it.
How many times has the Lord knocked on your door? In my own life, as I look back, I see many times when the Lord was knocking gently on my door. Sometimes I ignored it, sometimes I kept the security chain on and opened it just a peek, but the last couple of times I opened the door all the way. Jesus allows you time to accept Him. Sometimes we have the "Road to Damascus" experience with Jesus or sometimes we have the simple call to follow Him. Whatever the way it is that the Lord reaches out to us, we must accept it... it is the start of a whole new life, a whole new calling, and a whole new mission. We are God's workmanship and we are called to work for Him.
We must work for LOVE to heal this world and the only real solution is to live as Christ followers.
